Nokia and Microsoft launch program for mobile eye on RIM
Nokia and Microsoft filed on Wednesday (5) the first result of the collaboration of companies focused on software to break the dominance of the BlackBerry, Research In Motion, to provide wireless services to businesses.
Nokia and Microsoft, who have feuded in the mobile phone business, announced the agreement in August last year. The companies hope to offer the Nokia phones with the Microsoft Office suite later this year.
On Wednesday, the companies presented the program Communicator Mobile, which allows users to see availability of colleagues and communicate via instant messaging, email, text message or phone call.
The names and status of persons are added directly to the contacts application on the device. Owners of the Nokia E52 and E72 phones can download the program from this Wednesday at the store Ovi, Nokia.
