Google Wallet Officially Launched

SAN FRANCISCO - Google has finally announced its mobile payment platform, Google Wallet, Friday (27/05/2011).

This week, Google is rumored to be revealing a mobile payment system that allows smartphone users to pay in stores as easily as they use a credit card.

This service will utilize chip communication (NFC) in the smartphone which basically sends data or financial transactions with a wave of friction at a tool store to check out.

For the initial stage, the new Google Wallet can be enjoyed through the Nexus S 4G with Sprint Nextel as the operator.

In addition, Google Wallet will only support the Citi MasterCard Prepaid Card and Google. However, this platform will be open to any payment card.

"We want to create an interesting payment model that could invite more partners to join," said Google Vice President of Payments, Osama Bedier, as quoted by Yahoo News.

Although it has been announced publicly, Google Wallet service can not enjoy the commercial, because it is still in test phase. New customers can use the Google Wallet in summer
