The iPhone virus

iPhone virus
Lost without the IPhone?
The Blackberry was a few years ago, the battle with the IPhone. It is clear that the Blackberry has lost this battle. Was your time very happy that you had a BlackBerry, now almost dare you not to tell anyone ....

BlackBerry
After several major disruptions to BlackBerry's popularity dropped to the level 0. Unfortunately I must say, because despite the failures, the phone just very pleasant to use. Of course there are many more phones where you can join, but do not be too demanding than the BlackBerry is an excellent phone.

iPhone
Clearly, the iPhone is the most popular phone worldwide. I myself was until half a year ago, not 'to', but by the people around me, I am also infected with the virus Iphone. Now I unfortunately have to wait until I can renew my subscription, because in my time very popular BlackBerry, I did a 2-year contract ended (I wanted to provisionally anything else?)

Buy
Of course I would also just buy an IPhone, but what are those bitches expensive. My question is always how all those other people perceive them. Do they have a money tree in the garden?

Verizon Wireless has sold an Apple product

It's the first time Verizon Wireless has sold an Apple product in its 2,000 stores, a Verizon spokeswoman said.
Verizon Wireless won't sell the 3G version of the iPad that can connect to cellular networks.
Verizon Wireless is only getting the Wi-Fi version because its network technology isn't compatible with the cellular technology that the iPad rides on. Apple isn't changing its device for Verizon.

Verizon Wireless is also offering a data plan with a 1 gigabyte cap for $20 a month. The carrier will also sell the iPad by itself.
An AT&T representative declined to comment on Verizon selling the iPad.
Apple selling the iPad through both carriers only widens its distribution ahead of the introduction of rival devices.
Apple on Thursday announced that it plans to sell its iPad tablet computer through both AT&T and Verizon Wireless retail stores. Verizon Wireless will sell the iPad bundled with a MiFi hotspot creator.

Thursday's announcement that Verizon Wireless will offer the Apple iPad at its retail stores is a bit of a surprise, to say the least.
Verizon Wireless and AT&T stores will begin selling the Apple iPad on October 28. Nothing about the iPad has changed. AT&T will sell the iPad Wi-Fi 3G, according to Apple. It will offer the iPad with two wireless plan options, $15 for 250MB and $25 for 2GB. Both plans also offer free access to AT&T's Wi-Fi hotspot network. Prices of the iPad Wi-Fi 3G remain consistent at $630, $730, and $830.
Verizon Wireless, however, will sell the Wi-Fi version -- but it will be packaged with the Novatel MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot device. The cost breakdown at Verizon Wireless stores for the iPad is: $630 for iPad Wi-Fi 16GB   MiFi, $730 for iPad Wi-Fi 32GB   MiFi and $830 for iPad Wi-Fi 64GB   MiFi. Those prices reflect what the iPad Wi-Fi 3G cost
Verizon Wireless is offering a monthly access plan to iPad customers for up to 1GB of data for $20 per month. Verizon Wireless is also selling the Wi-Fi iPad without a MiFi.

Facebook for blackberry,Facebook for iphone, facebook for android

Facebook have recently started to give us user stats for its mobile applications and users that operate them for its available platforms such as the BlackBerry, iPhone, Android based handsets and the iPad.
The number of users are quite shocking with the iPhone taking the larger percentile of users with over 104 million active monthly users.
What form of device do you use to access Facebook?
Facebook is showing off some of its mobile usage data and it shows that its Apple iPhone and BlackBerry users handily outnumber Android users.
According to the company’s Facebook for iPhone page, there are nearly 105 million active monthly iPhone users. This number seems a bit fishy because Apple recently said that iOS is on track to break 100 million users.
The Apple iPhone app is the only dedicated app that can access Facebook Places, while others platforms can only use it through the touch-enable mobile website.
The Android page says there are a little over 12 million Android Facebook users.
On the heels of announcing a major mobile push with “Places,” Facebook announced today usage numbers for its various mobile apps — namely iOS, Android and Blackberry.
A big reason Facebook Places was such a big deal in the LBS world was Facebook’s massive installed mobile user base.  To give a glimpse of that user base, Facebook indicates there are nearly 105 million active monthly iPhone users.

Apple:first response to the iPhone 4's antenna problems

Apple flunked its first response to the iPhone 4's antenna problems, but the company turned everything around with a last-minute press conference and free bumper cases,

think about what you are thinking right now? and what your responses to current
one crisis communications expert said.

"I think after a real slow start, they've done very well," said Jonathan Bernstein, a crisis management specialist and tech enthusiast. Apple chief executive Steve Jobs initially came across as arrogant and uncaring, Bernstein said, but ultimately the company was candid in explaining what went wrong with the iPhone 4 and how it would be fixed.

Since the iPhone 4's launch, Apple has endured complaints about the iPhone 4's external antenna. The phone loses signal or drops calls, mostly in areas of low coverage, when a finger bridges the gap in the antenna on the phone's lower left-hand corner.

Apple initially dismissed the problem as a "non-issue," advising people to buy a bumper case or hold the phone differently. Then the company blamed the way signal bars are displayed, and promised a software update. Finally, Apple called a press conference last Friday, in which Jobs admitted the iPhone 4 is not perfect, claimed that all phones have this issue, and offered free bumper cases or full refunds on returns.

The latest response pleased Bernstein, who said that barring any other foul-ups with the iPhone or other products in the near future, Apple should escape this fiasco with its reputation intact. "The best defense against it is to have a strong cushion of good will already established. Apple has that," Bernstein said.

Still, he said Apple's response wasn't perfect. Jobs didn't do enough to reassure customers about the quality of the product. Bernstein used his wife as an example of how people are still concerned; she recently went to an Apple Store to ask questions about the iPhone 4's antenna, where previously she wouldn't have hesitated to buy the phone. A recent survey by IDC found that 66 percent of people who own older iPhones are holding off on upgrades, and 25 percent of new buyers are now delaying their puchases.

Bernstein also didn't think much of how Apple blamed other phone makers for having antenna problems. "Pointing fingers at other people is never a first line of defense unless other people have deliberately and directly harmed you," he said.

Jim Lukaszewski, another crisis communications expert and an author of six books on public relations, echoed Jobs' claim that the iPhone 4 antenna issue was blown out of proportion. "I don't know anybody who's worried about it," Lukaszewski said. "My sons are the folks who waited in line since three in the morning to have this thing, and they just roll their eyes at all this coverage."

Lukaszewski said imperfect products are just the nature of the technology business, and that Apple fixed the problem the best it could by taking action. "This company is really a model in handling these kinds of problems, because they do what they're supposed to do as soon as they're capable of doing it," he said.

Bernstein said Apple is subject to extra scrutiny because of the expectations people have of Apple products. The BP oil spill wasn't surprising, he said, but everyone's shocked to hear of a flaw in the latest iPhone.

surprise iphone 4

Journalists poured into Apple's headquarters this morning for a surprise press conference, at which Apple discussed issues with the iPhone 4's antenna that have been plaguing the gadget -- and announced free cases to fix it.

This time he's ever been waiting for iphone users.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs didn't unveil any new gizmos or gadgets, nor did he announce a partnership with Verizon, as many pundits had predicted. He also didn't apologize, and didn't announce a software fix.

But he did announce a fix of sorts: free cases for iPhone 4 purchasers.

As Jobs took the stage, he began his announcement by unveiling a 15-minute presentation -- but Jobs promised that he would answer everyone's questions shortly. In the presentation, which detailed Apple's defense of the iPhone 4 from "antennagate" as he described it, Jobs demonstrated similar reception issues with other smart phones,  notably the Blackberry Bold 9700 and a Samsung smartphone

The message is clear: Cell phone reception is a challenge for the entire industry

And as to a Bloomberg report that the company has known ahead of time about issues with an antenna, Jobs called the article "a crock.

In answer to the numerous reports and complaints that have come out this week, Jobs detailed for journalists its cell phone testing facility, a futuristic environment that Jobs said contained "17 anechoic chambers." And Jobs explained that merely 0.55% of customers have been calling about the antenna flaws.

According to industry analyst Michael Gartenberg, return rates in the neighborhood of 5% would more indicative of serious flaws. Jobs explained that merely 1.7% of people had returned the phone.

But Apple never announced a software fix for the iPhone antenna problem, other than to explain that the hardware issue would be solved with the free cases the company would be handing out. Instead Jobs spent the majority of time at its press conference explaining that cell phone reception problems were an ongoing issue for the entire industry, and defending its testing methodology.

In answer to a question about Jobs' health, Steve explained that he felt better when he was on vacation last week, in Hawaii.

Apple, which surprised consumers and investors by announcing the iPhone 4 press conference earlier this week, had kept mum on what it would announce prior to the event.

The iPhone 4 antenna problem is real

The iPhone 4 antenna problem is real. Apple needs to step up and make things right for the customers affected by it, and that may be what the company plans to do during a last-minute press conference Friday.

apkah your iphone users? and if you are experiencing the same thing?

The press conference will start 10 a.m. at Apple’s town hall in Cupertino, California, and Wired.com will provide news coverage of the event. You can also follow follow @gadgetlab or @bxchen on Twitter to stay plugged in to the news in real time.

Multiple independent tests have found that the iPhone 4 was more likely to suffer from attenuation (i.e., signal degradation) compared to similar handsets, when held in a very natural position covering the antenna gap in the lower-left corner.

The tests so far, performed by Consumer Reports and some bloggers, aren’t perfectly scientific, but they are consistent and repeatable. They point to the same inescapable conclusion: The iPhone 4’s antenna issues are related to a hardware design flaw.

That’s not a problem that can be resolved with an upcoming software update to correct the way the iPhone 4 displays signal strength, as Apple has promised.

On top of that, the reader reports about this issue continue to pour in to inboxes of several tech publications, including Wired, Gizmodo and Engadget.

Sure, there are lots of reasons to cheer about the iPhone 4. We like it, too, as shown in Wired.com’s very positive review of the device. In that review we did note the iPhone 4 is not a reliable phone, but a great overall device, particularly if you’re among that growing majority of people who use their phones more for Twitter and e-mail than for talking.

And in our own tests, as well as the reports of many readers, the antenna problem is not especially serious. It is likely that it only affects the minority of iPhone 4 customers, either because of quirks in Apple’s manufacturing process or because those users are in especially weak signal areas.

Still, even if the antenna issues are affecting a minority, the minority population for the iPhone 4 is big. Keep in mind this device is on track to be the best-selling phone ever, with sales topping 1.7 million in the first three days of launch.

Apple has long been a brand respected for excellent customer service and rock-solid industrial design. Wired.com believes that Apple should do the following in order to retain the respectability of its brand and loyalty of customers:
Change the antenna design

A full hardware recall, which an analyst estimates would cost Apple $1.6 billion, isn’t necessary. But at this point, Apple can still remedy the hardware defect in later shipments.
Provide free bumpers

On Apple’s support website, iPhone 4 customers should be able to request a free bumper if they report experiencing attenuation. It’s an easy enough fix that’s been confirmed to alleviate the problem, for those who don’t mind wearing an ugly bumper.
Replace the phone for those who ask

If iPhone 4 customers bring their handsets into an Apple Store, they should be able to exchange the device for a newer “fixed” model at no charge, as long as they’re under warranty. We think many users will be satisfied with a free case — in addition to providing antenna insulation, it also protects the iPhone’s two glass faces — but for those who aren’t, a replacement phone is a fair deal.

These steps may cost Apple a lot of money, but it’s the right thing to do. And whatever the cost, it’s nothing relative to the long-term damage that this problem will inflict on Apple if it goes unfixed.

For proof, look no further than the billions of dollars in market capitalization that Apple has shed since the iPhone 4 launch. There’s no clearer sign that the market wants this problem fixed, and now.

We agree.

Apple's online abundance additionally advice barter that orders won't be accomplished as anon as originally planned.

AT&T appears to be unable to keep up with demand for the iPhone 4 as it has halted sales of Apple's latest smartphone.

A note on the carrier's Web site early Wednesday informed consumers that," Pre-orders for iPhone temporarily suspended." There was no immediate word from AT&T as to when it might resume sales

AT&T isn't abandoned aback it comes to active abbreviate of iPhone 4 inventory. Even Apple itself has confused aback the date on which barter who adjustment the accessory can apprehend to accept one. The company's online abundance now indicates that preorders will not be accomplished until July 2, rather than June 24 as originally planned.
While the delays may be arresting to consumers, they're a assurance that iPhone 4 may be addition huge hit for Apple.

The buzz appearance a cardinal of enhancements over its predecessor, the iPhone 3GS, including college awning resolution (960 x 640 pixel technology dubbed Retina Display), a front-facing camera for video chats, and a best abiding array that affords 40% added allocution time. It's additionally 24% thinner.
iPhone 4 additionally includes a 3-axis gyro and a glassy fresh bottle and stainless animate case. "iPhone 4 is the better bound back the aboriginal iPhone," said Apple CEO Steve Jobs as he apparent the artefact on June 7 in San Francisco.
The fresh buzz is priced at $199 for the 16GB model, and $299 for the 32GB model, based on a two-year contract. iPhone 4 is accessible starting June 24 in the U.S., France, Germany, Japan, and the U.K. The preorder aeon began June 15.

Samsung, the largest company in the world for the production of screens

Samsung disagrees with statements made by Steve Jobs during the official presentation of the new iPhone 4 took place last Monday at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2010.

During the event, Apple CEO had paused to explain all the technical improvements applefonino last, lingering on the screen Retina (3.5 inches, 640x960 pixels for 326 ppi resolution and contrast 800:1), which he thinks is technologically higher than the OLED technology.

According to a spokesman of Samsung, the largest company in the world for the production of screens, the screen is actually clearer Retina 3 to 5% compared to this Samsung AMOLED Super Galaxy S (image at bottom of article ), but wastes 30% more energy.

In addition, Samsung believes that its screens are best for contrast and viewing angle and continues with the final lunge "structurally IPS LCD technology is not at par with that of AM-OLED"

The iPhone has the new version 4 operating system

On Monday, Steve Jobs introduced the audience to his lecture at the Worldwide Developers Conference Apple's fourth version of its mobile phone.

The iPhone 4, named this model brings some changes from previous versions. The most obvious has to do with his appearance, now dominated by right-angled edges. The front and rear are reinforced glass, while the back is a steel band that functions as an antenna.

The team also offers a screen with a higher resolution than previous models, reaching the 960 x 640 pixels, as the display is still 3.5 ", this density of pixels on, according to Apple, the appearance of texts quality display that could have letters printed on paper. In the presentation it was announced that the electronic bookstore IPAD available for the tablet will work on the iPhone.

Another element shared by both devices is the central processor A4. As for storage capacity, there are two options: 16 and 32 GB. Be available in two colors: black and white.

Besides offering the team the 5-band 3G (as the next Nokia N8) n Wi-Fi GPS accelerometer, the iPhone 4 includes a gyroscope, which detects the movement of mobile six-axis, which is very useful for video games.

It also includes a digital camera renewed 5 megapixel camera with flash LED and the ability to record video in HD quality (1280 x 720 pixels each table).

A second front camera allows video calls, but only with Apple's proprietary application called FaceTime.

The iPhone has the new version 4 operating system, now known as IOS, which is also available for earlier models, its most notable change is that it offers multi-tasking (ie, the ability to use multiple applications simultaneously) and tools to corporate users, such as synchronizing multiple email accounts hosted on Microsoft Exchange servers.

The 24th of this month will go on sale in the United States and parts of Europe, at a price of $ 199 for the 16GB model and $ 299 for 32 GB. Apple executives confirmed to La Nacion that next September will be available in the region, but no details of their arrival in Argentina. No local operator announced plans to offer its users, one of the complications is that being manufactured outside the country pay all the taxes that took effect this year with the scheme which encourages the manufacture of equipment in Tierra del Fuego

IPED has only 128 MB of RAM

Some time has elapsed since the IPAD was released and today it is possible to get a copy. The IPED, the clone of Apple's gadget, has stamp of identity. Once again, the Chinese have launched in the market for imitation and have dared to clone Apple's latest gadget. Does your price? Less than a hundred euros.

Swift and fast. The IPAD already has a clone. As ABC has picked up in its digital version, you can get a copy of IPED, his twin brother, for just 100 euros.De time, the copy does not seem to arrive in Spain but in China is already a success.
The design, the only common feature

Although both devices have a very similar design, the similarities do not go beyond issues of aesthetics. As it says the proverb, 'Gold seems, money is not. " And, again, be right back. The IPED has only 128 MB of RAM, and it shows in the slow moving its complications. In addition, use the Android operating system from Google.

3GS of Apple's 16GB iPhone on sale 97 USD

Walmart has revealed that it will begin selling the 16GB iPhone 3GS for $97 this week, more than $100 off of Apple's $199 suggested retail price.

Starting Tuesday, the lower capacity iPhone 3GS will cost roughly the same amount as Apple's 8GB iPhone 3G. Earlier Monday, a new rumor suggested Apple could be discontinuing the iPhone 3G, which was originally released in 2008.

According to CNNMoney, the new deal from Walmart still requires a two-year contract with carrier AT&T. The U.S. price reduction comes in advance of Memorial Day weekend.

"It is our commitment to always lead on price," said Mehrdad Akbar, senior category director for Walmart.

The move comes less than two weeks before Apple is expected to introduce its next-generation handset, when Chief Executive Steve Jobs delivers the opening keynote for the annual Worldwide Developers Conference on June 7.

The price reduction could be permanent. One analyst said Monday they believe Apple will formally reduce the price of the iPhone 3GS to $99 once the new model is released. Last year, after the iPhone 3GS was released, Apple reduced the price of the 8GB iPhone 3G to $99.

The partnership between Apple and Walmart started in 2005 when the retailer began a pilot program selling Apple's short-lived HP-branded 20GB iPod. Over time, the nation's largest retail chain began carrying Apple's full line of iPods, and in 2008 some of its stores began selling the iPhone 3G. Recently, company officials said they hope to sell the iPad by the end of 2010.

Apple could sell ten million in one year iPads

All Things Digital’s John Paczkowski is reporting about an analyst report that says the iPad is outselling the Mac and closing on the iPhone, at 200,000 units per week–putting Apple on a pace to sell eight million iPads this year, according to the analyst firm’s forecast. That’s a lot of iPads–and if the firm is right, it means that the rumors from months ago that Apple expected to sell ten million iPads in the gizmo’s first year on the market aren’t so nutty.

(Of course, when folks were doubting that Apple could sell ten million iPads in a year, many of them were expecting the “iSlate” to sell for a thousand bucks or so. Only Apple knew that the most basic model would go for a relatively affordable $500.)

Here's a rerun of the numbers on sales of past Apple products I pulled together when the ten-million-iPads rumor first surfaced. Now that we know a lot more about the iPad, I don’t see why it can’t sell about as many units in a year as the iPhone did last year, assuming that the international rollout doesn’t suffer any further major hitches

Apple launches gold and diamond IPAD

The Englishman Stuart Hughes designed for Apple's IPAD Supreme Edition, which consists of only 10 housing units with a 22-carat solid gold and 53 diamonds of 25.5 carats embedded in the Apple logo, the site reported Antena 3 Noticias.

The manzanita it is the sign of distinction from Apple also mutate, becoming an unaffordable luxury element of this tablet of 64 GB. It also has a gold trim on the front.

Worth to read the same books, will connect to the same pages as those of his neighbor, but will do so with a high style that will hardly have the others.

The Hughes are responsible for more than a high class gadget. Gold MacBooks, and Apple smartphones RIM coated as jewelry or consoles are worth, and never better, its weight in gold.
