HTC Thunderbolt features a blazing fast and bright display

The HTC Thunderbolt features a blazing fast and bright display, plus the capability to wirelessly beam a video from the phone to a television set (that's capable of receiving such transmissions.)

HTC debuted three new 4G mobile devices last week: the HTC Thunderbolt, the Inspire and the EVO Shift--Release date and price points on the Thunderbolt and the Inspire were murky.

It’s been a big year for big screens at CES, and the Thunderbolt doesn’t stray far from what’s been debuting. The haptic feedback on the Thunderbolt’s capacitive touchscreen is a nice touch, but I had a bit of difficulty with pressure sensitivity when trying to scroll through menu screens. Where the spaciousness of the screen shines is in typing on the Thunderbolt’s keyboard.

We’ve been hearing lots about 4G network capability lately, and the "Thunderbolt is HTC’s Verizon-carried contender". Under the hood, the Thunderbolt runs on a 1-GHz Snapdragon processor, with 768 MB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The little Google-branded kickstand on the back is a nice flourish, especially when you want to watch video on the phone’s large screen. Overall, I dug the Thunderbolt well enough upon first glance.

HTC Evo Shift Review

HTC Evo Shift Review
The HTC Evo Shift 4G will go head to head with the likes of T-Mobile G2 and Samsung Epics 4G due to its key feature, the slide out QWERTY keyboard. The camera is a 5-megapixel with LED flash with no dedicated camera button. Powering up the HTC Evo Shift 4G we find the 800MHz 2nd-gen Snapdragon processor up to par with other 1Ghz Android handsets on the market. Supporting Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, Proximity sensor and light sensors, this Android can stand with the best.

As for YouTube, the videos look great in the built-in YouTube app but not so great from the Web browser (grainy). Moving on to the 5-megapixel camera, the HTC Evo Shift 4G does both image and video well. Color balance was good, Contrast slider worked well to combat backlight problems and its flash worked very well for darker shots. As for sound recording, it would be the HTC Evo Shift 4G handset's weak spot.
With plenty of useful apps preloaded and Sense UI features, exceptional processor, keyboard and 4G WiMAX capability, the" HTC Evo Shift 4G" is a worthy new addition to the Sprint network. The HTC Evo Shift 4G is officially available on January 9 at $149.99 with a two year contract and $100 MIR.
Will the HTC EVO Shift 4G have what it takes to destroy the Samsung Epic 4G, Motorola Droid 2, and T-Mobile G2? HTC EVO Shift 4G Design

In terms of architecture, the closest neighbors to the HTC EVO Shift 4G are the Samsung Epic 4G, Motorola Droid 2, and T-Mobile G2, as all three phones specialize in slide-out QWERTY keyboards. The buttons on the HTC EVO Shift 4G's keyboard are small, but they're nicely spaced and include a Function button for fast action.

Speaking of touchscreens, the HTC EVO Shift 4G has a 3.6-inch WVGA capacitive display with fantastic sensitivity. HTC really knows their stuff when it comes to the construction of a quality phone, and the HTC EVO Shift 4G is no exception.

The HTC EVO Shift 4G also lacks a Camera button, so it's definitely not the most equipped phone when it comes to external controls. The 5-megapixel camera lens with LED flash is embedded in back, and the HTC EVO Shift 4G has a 3.5mm audio jack.

HTC EVO Shift 4G Software and Interface

The HTC EVO Shift 4G excels when it comes to speed and productivity. For our browsing pleasure, the HTC EVO Shift 4G utilizes HTC Sense in conjunction with Android 2.2, the latter contributing to the speed boost and compatibility with Flash 10.1 while browsing the Internet. The HTC EVO Shift 4G is a beast in QWERTY clothing, and we found the phone to be highly efficient when it came to speed. The EVO Shift 4G was one of the quickest phones we've tested to date. The HTC EVO Shift 4G allowed us to select our favorite contacts and display them on one of the 7 home screens, in addition to web page bookmarks.

The HTC EVO Shift 4G also handled 3D games without any problems, thanks to its 6-axis sensor, and the revamped Android Market offered over 100,000 applications to download. Like any Sprint phone, the HTC EVO Shift 4G includes NASCAR, Sprint Football Live, Sprint TV, and Sprint Zone, which need subscriptions. Everything about the HTC EVO Shift 4G's interface and navigation experience was seamless, and it was one of the most pleasurable browsing experiences we've had on a phone to date.

Although the HTC EVO Shift 4G is only equipped with one microphone, it excels with very good call quality.

HTC EVO Shift 4G Camera

It feels odd to notate the following, but the HTC EVO Shift 4G was the first phone to actually reestablish our hope for the world of digital imaging within the cell phone landscape. In low light, the HTC EVO Shift 4G had the same sensitivity as the Epic 4G, but its flash performance was superior.

The HTC EVO Shift 4G can capture 720p HD videos with its 5-megapixel camera at 30fps, though in low light, the fps drop significantly. The HTC EVO Shift 4G for Sprint is a definite winner. The EVO Shift 4G also proves its versatility with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and access to plenty of applications like Quickoffice, HTC Mail, the Android Market, and a robust Google Suite. Consider the HTC EVO Shift 4G to be the subdued version of the 4G phone that started it all.

HTC EVO 4G Review

The HTC EVO 4G, the nation's first WiMAX phone, has more Internet than any phone in America today. The phone doesn't have a physical keyboard, so you're reliant on HTC's touch keyboard. The EVO is a 4G phone, but it can't (yet) make phone calls over 4G. Call quality on this phone with Sprint's 3G CDMA network isn't that great, either. The phone runs the Google Android 2.1 OS with HTC's Sense UI extensions. Sprint promises Qik video calling, but it wasn't ready on my demo model. While I had no problem streaming HD YouTube videos on the phone, YouTube and Hulu videos both stuttered and buffered on a PC. 4G utterly hoses the EVO's battery. Internet, Video Streaming, and Media

Especially with 4G, the EVO offers a spectacular Web experience. A separate CBS application called TV.com streams more CBS shows. The phone likes MP4 videos best, and plays VGA-quality videos in full screen mode. The EVO 4G boasts two cameras.

The HTC Evo has flaws. The EVO is Sprint's "super phone," the ultimate handset for its network.

It might not even be the best Android phone available to date. But it is a solid phone with amazing hardware running the consumer-friendly HTC Sense Android release. Features
4.3-inch screen
Mobile WiFi hotspot mode
A kickstand
Front and rear cameras
June 4th 2010 release date
The EVO 4G ruined me. The screen is bright, crisp and wonderful. It’s a great balance between a standard 3.5-inch cell phone and a small Internet tablet.
.

The bigger screen can result in a thicker and therefore less portable device. But that’s not the EVO 4G. Don’t think for a minute that this larger-screen phone is any less pocketable than the iPhone or Droid.

The EVO 4G feels good. The front-facing buttons are touch-sensitive and flush-mounted on the panel.
It made a nasty sound when I slid the phone across a glass tablet top yesterday.

The back panel is held on with a bunch of little plastic clips built onto the rear panel itself. The EVO 4G’s 8MP camera is one of the phone’s main selling points and while it does a fine job, it’s not going to replace your pocket shooter. The camera actually does great job auto-focusing and firing right away.

The EVO 4G is rocking HTC’s Android build, Sense.
You must give a Sense-enabled phone a go before you write off Android entirely. Personally I found a stock Android build, like in the Droid, too much work. You really don’t have to download any apps (besides Advanced Task Killer) to complete this phone — or any other HTC Android phone like the Incredible or Eris.

The phone ships with a dead-simple WiFi hotspot creator. The phone can also share its Internet connection via USB. The video sharing app, Qik, is also pre-loaded on the phone. It’s a great way to utilize the front-facing camera

A few 3rd party apps really shine on the large screen, too. It really should be the stock browser for the new crop of large screen devices. It even offers Chrome-like tabs, which are a great function and argument for the larger screen.

he phone’s 1GHz Snapdragon CPU really makes Android fly, too. The only time there is any lag or hesitation in the device is when the phone is installing an app.

The phone will lose a third of its battery sitting overnight with the GPS, WiFi, and 4G turned off. The phone died promptly at 6 pm. The phone just sucks the battery dry.

The short battery life kills the EVO 4G’s appeal. It’s changed my phone habits. I keep telling myself that I still want this phone because of the awesome screen and the Froyo Android release will cause unicorns to dance on the phone and fix the battery problem. It’s a  shame that EVO 4G has such a big deal breaker. I loved this phone. It doesn’t matter how awesome it is to browse the Internet on a 4.3-inch screen or do front-facing video calls if the phone’s battery can’t make it through the day.

Android 2 2 already

Android 2.2android 2 2 already in testing, new features highlighted hackedlabs posts eclipse helios downloads eclipse classycle plugin gone gradle and php gradle announce plugin hiccups first gradle step atlassian eclipse jira plugin. Sprint denies "android 2.2" on samsung moment and htc hero what sprint giveth, sprint can taketh away today, we reported that sprint confirmed the htc evo 4g will be upgraded to android 2 2.

Android 2.2 is here

Like built-in tethering and Wi-Fi hotspot powers

It's hard to accurately gauge that for a couple of reasons—we've been using a pre-release build of Froyo, so things will probably get better before the final, and we didn't install any apps, at the behest of Adobe, since we were testing Flash 10.1 on this unit—but Google promises 2x-5x faster thanks to a just in time compiler.

Android 2.2 Froyo
fastened its seat belts to server cold Froyo for their aim to fix the European HTC Desire owners.
So here it is Android 2.2 Froyo update for the HTC desire will improve things like 720p video recording that we also discussed earlier and iTunes syncing, Caller ID and a multi-language keyboard.

HTC has made it very clear that they are going to roll out the "Android 2.2"(Froyo) to the phones HTC Desire, HTC Droid Incredible and HTC Evo 4G

HTC Desire HD Leaked

The HTC Desire still stands out as the best Android-based handset on the market. It's style, build quality, features, and usability simply haven't been matched since its release three months ago. Not a company to stand still, though, HTC is busy working on the Desire's successor and we may just have had a sneak peak at what we can expect.
if you are one of his lovers, or users of the HTC?

Recently leaked on the SuperETrader blog, the specs break down as follows:

    * 4.3 inch WVGA Touch Screen
    * 8 Mega Pixel Camera
    * 1 GHZ Qualcomm Processor
    * Android 2.2 OS
    * HD 720p Video Capture
    * Xvid Video Playback
    * SRS Surround Sound
    * Automatic Face Tracking
    * Adobe Flash 10 Support
    * 4GB Internal Memory (up to 32GB)
    * E-book Reader Feature
    * Uni-Body Aluminium Design

It all sounds pretty exciting but the big news is of course the increase to a whopping 4.3in screen and the uni-body aluminium chassis. Frankly, we're not happy to hear it's going to have such a large screen. Unless the company can perform miracles and fit it in a chassis no bigger than the Desire then it's likely to be a bit too big for most people.

We're more positive about the aluminium design, though. We loved its use on the HTC Legend, and in fact at the time we wished HTC had used the same tech on the Desire - it looks like we got our wish.

Also intriguing is the e-book reader feature. While we suspect it's simply that you'll be able to buy e-books through the Android Market, it'll be interesting to see if there's some actual technology innovations to accompany it.

This new phone is expected to arrive in October with the name of either Desire HD or Ace. What do you think? Is there anything missing that you'd like to have seen, does the screen size concern you, or does it sound just about perfect? Let us know in the comments.

the Sprint today made the launch of its first mobile WiMAX

In the Sprint today made the launch of its first mobile WiMAX as the operator announced a few weeks ago.

EV HTV 4G device goes on sale at a price of $ 199 plus a discount coupon of $ 100 for those users who sign a two-year contract with the operator, said Telesemana.com.

4G The first phone based on this operating system have 4G technology, which allows you to browse and download content from the Internet with speeds up to 10 times faster than standard 3G.

The Evo 4G is an impressive-looking phone, measuring 6.6 cm wide, 12.1 cm high and 1.27 cm thick, all framed by a touchscreen TFT LCD of 4.3 inches and a resolution of 480x800 pixels, one of the largest in the market. At the bottom has touch buttons that provide shortcuts to different menus and easy to navigate applications.

While it may seem that this model is a little big in size, the priority is to offer the user a generous screen, vibrant and colorful, which makes viewing photos, videos and Web pages a pleasure.
